If you love watercolor you will love how this style improves your ability to paint clean free flowing strokes as your brush dances across the paper!
ABOUT THE CLASS:
The class will be taught by Susan Wilders who recently retired after 17 years as Artist in Residence from the Morikami Museum in Delray Beach, Florida.
The Zen Buddhist monks from China introduced the Northern Sung style of painting to Japan during the Muromachi period in the 14th century.
You will learn the basic strokes of Sumi-e by painting bamboo, the orchid, plum blossom, and the chrysanthemum, as well as Bonsai tree, flowers and birds.
ATTENDENCE:
Students purchase a block of 5 classes and redeem them as they can. The instructor keeps track of attendance and alerts the student when it's time to purchase another block. Students are encouraged to use the classes consecutively, but they may take breaks.
SUPPLIES:
Supplies will be provided for the first 5 classes. If the student wishes to continue beyond the five classes, Sue will provide a supply list for personal purchase.
