This class is for adults, but mature teens are welcome.
This class will explore various ways to begin and complete an oil painting. Students will have opportunities to work from life and photos, and Lindsay will explain her methods for approaching the different subject matter. Students will learn basic techniques such as block-ins, reductions, glazing, scumbling, and more!
About the Artist:
Lindsay Carroll is an award-winning oil and pastel artist living and working in the High Country of North Carolina. She received her formal training at a young age from the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities, where she studied from 2007-2009. Her methods—which blend classical and contemporary realism— will be explored in WAC courses where students will work with oil, charcoal, and pastel. Courses may explore a variety of subject matter or may be centered upon the figure and figurative realism.
